Our Parish

St. Seraphim’s was founded in 1954 by Blessed Archbishop +Dmitri of Dallas along with his sister Dimitra under the omophorion of Bishop Bogdan of the Ukrainian Church. In 1958, St. Seraphim’s joined what later became the Orthodox Church of America under the omophorion of Metropolitan Leonty. We strive to live up to the vision of Archbishop +DMITRI through our catechism program, openness to converts, and by starting new missions. Below you can find a brief snapshot of our parish life.

Clergy

Our clergy come from all walks of life in order to serve Christ and His church. Most work full time jobs, while some are fully supported by the Church, however all give countless hours to shepherd the flock of Christ’s pasture.

Iconography

Our iconography was painted by the talented Ukrainian iconography, Vladimir Grygorenko. His beautiful work attracts people from all over the North Texas region and beyond.

“The true aim of our Christian life consists in the acquisition of the Holy Spirit of God. As for fasts, and vigils, and prayer, and almsgiving, and every good deed done for Christ’s sake, they are only means of acquiring the Holy Spirit of God.”
